Sign up now! Run/walk any time between October 4–31. Shirt and team selection will follow in an email after you register.

This year we will be virtual but will still include all the fun from a distance; the event runs from October 4–31. Awards will be given over Facebook Live at 1:00pm on November 1, 2020. All proceeds support families struggling with addiction and mental health in the Delaware Valley.

How will this work? Although we will be apart, we will be spreading Superhero energy everywhere! .Register for the virtual race below. We will send you en email asking for your shirt size, if you would like to join or start a team, and how you would like to get your Festival in a Box.

Once your Festival in a Box arrives, grab your cape or mask (or just your t-shirt) and make your run/walk. Post a picture on social media (ours and/or yours: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) with the hashtag #CGRC5K. OR send us an email telling us you completed the run. You can post your route, your costume, your time, anything and everything you like! Then, you’re officially part of the Superhero 5K! You have until October 31 at 5:00 to complete your run or walk and let us know. Stay tuned to your email and our Facebook and Instagram for updates, prizes, and giveaways throughout the month.

All participants will receive a tech-tee and a Festival-in-a-Box with items you need to have your own Superhero Run/Walk and Festival. Expect fun family activities, community resources, and some exciting surprises. If you register after September 25 delivery will be delayed, but you can pick up your items at the Child Guidance Havertown headquarters.

Our prevention theme is especially relevant this year. The isolation, worry, and anxiety triggered by the pandemic have contributed to an increase in drug and alcohol misuse and abuse. These circumstances are having a devastating impact on children and families as a whole. The Superhero Run & Wellness Festival offers families prevention skills, builds awareness of substance abuse, and shares resources.

Will there be prizes? At 1:00 on Sunday, November 1, tune in to the Child Guidance Facebook page where we will announce our winners. Prizes will be given for:

  • Top fundraising team captain
  • Fundraising team with the most participants (team with the most donors)
  • Best Superhero costume
  • Best Pet Superhero costume
  • Best Superhero Family
  • Most steps taken in one day (send us a picture of your fitbit/iphone/stepcounter)
  • Most creative race finish (photo or video)
  • Random drawing prizes.

Want to be highlighted on the shirt? You can be a sponsor (contact TLutter@cgrc.org) or create a fundraising team! Fundraising teams can have any number of members. It's easy to make a team. Links and instructions will be in the email you receive asking for your shirt size requests.

All proceeds from this event directly support families in the five-county Philadelphia area with addiction, mental health, and behavioral health needs. Join us to promote drug and alcohol awareness and raise funds to provide therapeutic care for children and families. Your efforts can provide provide every child with a safe home and comprehensive, affordable behavioral and mental healthcare.
